Fraser Choirs

  • Women's Chorale

    This class is a beginning vocal class for those who have had previous musical experience or private lessons. Emphasis is placed on furthering reading and interpretative qualities of music and music production. Two and three part music is the basis for eventual performance at two major concerts a year.
     
    Concert Attire

    This choir wears a black dress and character shoes. The students are required to have black character shoes with a 1½-inch heel. You can purchase these at any dance store. All dresses must be returned to FHS at the end of the school year or the student will have a fine on their account.


    A Cappella

    This class is a beginner/intermediate group for singers. Despite the group's name, this group rarely sings A Cappella. Three-and four-part music is the basis for eventual performance at two major concerts a year.

    Concert Attire
    The ladies wear a dress and character shoes. The students are required to have black character shoes with a 1½-inch heel. You can purchase these at any dance store.

    All dresses and vests must be returned to FHS at the end of the school year or the student will have a fine on their account.

    Fraser Singers

    Fraser Singers perform advanced classical and show choir repertoire. Dance and movement are an integral part of their performance. Numerous performances outside of the school day are an important component of this group, in addition to District and State Solo & Ensemble Festivals.  Attendance at a National Choral Competition is the highlight of the year.
     
    Concert Attire
    Ladies: The ladies will be measured for dresses. The students are required to have black character shoes with a 1½-inch heel. You can purchase these at any dance store.

    Gentlemen: The gentlemen are to be fitted for a tuxedo.  Men will also need patent leather shoes that tie and may be bought used from any tuxedo store.

    The cost of the dress/tuxedo will be deducted from the student’s choir account. All concert dresses and tuxedos are owned by the students and may be sold to future members if the items are in good condition.
