Welcome to FPS Transportation Department

  • All school bus transportation concerns should be directed to the Transportation Department
    586-439-7100
    Office hours are Monday - Friday 5:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    16465 Masonic, Fraser, MI 48026

Students will be assigned a route number in lieu of a bus number. The route number is located on the left side of the entry door. Each bus route has been assessed and tested in an effort to make Fraser’s transportation system as safe and efficient as possible. To ensure transportation, all students must be at their bus stop 10 minutes prior to scheduled arrival time. To make sure your child has a safe and pleasant ride, please review the bus rules with your child found on this website.

Synovia - Bus Scanning System

  • synovia logo Beginning in the 2019-2020 school year all students at Richards Middle School and Fraser High School will need their student ID to scan on and off the bus.

Fraser Public Schools continuously reviews its security procedures in order to provide a safe learning environment for all students. Bus safety and security was noted as an area with room for improvement.

Last year the district began a partnership with Synovia in order to increase the safety and security on our school buses. The program provides many benefits, including documented student ridership, real-time lists of riders, and turn-by-turn navigation, digital inspections and remote diagnostics for our transportation department. It also ensures that students are on the correct bus.

    • When does this take effect?
      • Beginning the first day of school, September 3, all students in grades 7-12 will be expected to use their student ID to scan on and off the bus.
    • What if my student loses/forgets their ID?
      • Students are expected to scan their ID when they get on and off the bus both before and after school. If a student loses their ID, they will need to have a new one made in the media center at their school. Please note there may be a small fee for a replacement ID.
    • Does this affect elementary students?
      • At this time, elementary students will not be required to scan on and off the bus. We anticipate issuing student ID cards to students in grades DK-6 this fall and begin the testing phase in December. More information will be sent to parents once the school year begins.
