Mrs. Burlager's 4-year-old preschool classes were immersed in apple fun this month. They took a trip to Blakes Apple Orchard, taste-tested apples, made their own individual apple pies, pretend apple pies, paper apple pies, and applesauce!
They learned that apples start out as blossoms and the importance bees have in the development of apples. All of the children enjoyed having to use their muscles to turn the ricer to mash the apples. The A.M. class loved the homemade applesauce but the P.M. class had mixed feelings. One little girl said that this was the best day ever and she never knew you could do so many things with apples!
