Building Foundational Skills

Have you ever wondered what the benefits of building a tower are for preschool students? Benefits include eye-had coordination, children have to place one block on top of the other is such a way that the tower does not collapse.

It teaches children early math and engineering skills through hands-on learning. Children definitely learn better when they can feel objects and the best way to learn geometric shapes is to feel each and every corner. They learn how heavy the blocks are and then they learn exactly how to place the block in order for it not to fall.

Building a tower also encourages spatial awareness, improves fine motor skills, and enhances logical thinking capability – it provides mental stimulation and teaches kids cause and effect. For example, if a child places the block too close to the edge the tower topples over.
