The Board of Education plays a vital role in our school district. The seven-member board is made up of parents of both current and former students who volunteer their time to lead the district.

Three of the board positions are on the November 6 ballot. To help inform voters as well as all parents, we have shared their background information on our website.

The Board determines policies for the management, care and control of the district’s schools, then delegates authority to the superintendent and administrative staff to operate the schools according to these policies.

Members are elected to serve six-year terms and spend countless hours a year attending meetings, workshops, professional development and district events.

The Board regularly meets the second and fourth Mondays of the month at the Idea Lab inside Richards Middle School. All meetings are open to the public.
