Leesa Wright - Fraser High School Teacher of the Year

The students’  behavior towards Ms. Wright speaks for itself. You can see in her daily interactions with them that she is well-loved by all. She often has students visiting her to say hello between classes, and she always has former students – now parents with students attending Fraser High School – stopping by to see her at Meet the Teacher Night every year. Any time you pass her classroom, Ms. Wright is always engaging her students with what seems like an endless amount of positive energy. Students immediately feel comfortable in her class, describing her using words such as welcoming, understanding, and helpful. 

Ms. Wright works tirelessly in her free time on a regular basis to ensure that her lessons are well-thought out, engaging, innovative, and in line with the latest in educational best practices. She routinely becomes an unofficial mentor to any new teacher who joins the World Language Department and is the “go-to” for help and advice in the department for new and veteran teachers alike.
