Going Green

Eisenhower Goes GREEN!

Did you know Eisenhower has been a Macomb County Green School since the program started 12 years ago? We belong to a select group of only 10 schools with that distinction. We are very excited to continue with the program. The staff committee is planning some great activities for this school year:

● We are starting a Green Team with students. This team will focus on learning about ways to be green in addition to helping our Ike community continue to be green.

● We plan to start a community garden. The students will be able to assist in the setup and care.

● Ike will be adopting an endangered species native to MI.

● We will continue with recycling markers, paper, cardboard, plastic, batteries, and printer cartridges used at our school and plan to organize it all with a Recycling Station. We want to make sure all classrooms have small recycling bins available in their room to encourage paper recycling.

In addition to these planned projects, we will continue with all of the things we have been doing for years, including the 1st-grade Earth Day Clean up, 2nd-Grade Water Conservation Program, 3rd-Grade Michigan Sturgeon presentation, 4th-Grade Consumers Energy program, and much more!
