Fraser Nutrition Services and ARAMARK have teamed up to provide your students with the fuel that they need to have a successful academic career here at Fraser Public Schools. We provide nutritious & delicious meals in accordance with USDA standards. In a time where by the year 2015, 25% of US kids will be obese, we know that nutrition plays a large part of what kids eat at school. We have different programs designed to help incorporate more whole grains, leaner meats & cheeses, & decrease the amount of sugar & fat your students eat. All menus are available online for your convenience in the folder "Menu" at the bottom of the page.

Online Payments

ARAMARK & Fraser Nutrition Services: Helping Students Flourish

Healthy For Life

The strategic importance of Health & Wellness is escalating. Rising obesity,
increasing rates of nutrition related disease and growth in healthcare
costs are driving social and political pressure. Heightened awareness of
these issues is changing individuals’ perceptions. This represents an
important opportunity to empower healthier environments and outcomes.
We are launching a new program called Healthy For Life to help with
these rising health issues.
Our goal is to create a single, powerful,
differentiated ARAMARK Health & Wellness platform to empower
healthier environments & outcomes.
 We will offer adult communication
pieces located at the Wellness Education Center box in your child's
school main office. We will also focus on Student Health Finder
Icons, New Menu Templates, updated recipe database with icons,
Education Brochures, Posters,
Quarterly Newsletter, Nutrition Fact
Sheet
, Ask the Dietitian FAQ sheets. All sheets can be downloaded
and can be found under the Healthy for Life Tab.

As Congress, First Lady Michelle Obama and communities across the country seek ways to address the
deepening childhood obesity crisis, Fraser Nutrition Services Department continues to emphasize the importance
of promoting healthy lifestyles & healthier food.

USDA instituted new New Changes for 2012-2013 School Year:

  • Biggest Change: Students must take a minimum of ½ cup fruit or veggie to qualify for a meal. Please encourage your
students to take fruits and veggies with every meal.
  • There are now weekly requirements of certain colors of veggies offered during the week. Since we already started
implementing this last year your students should be used to seeing new things.
  • The new requirement is that half of our grains must be whole grains. Again, we already started implementing this
standard last school year. One great way to get your student used to this is by serving whole grains at home.
  • The new requirement is that all flavored milk must be skim milk and unflavored milk can be 1% milk. We made this
transition last year regarding milk. Please note that our flavored milk is reduced sugar.
  • There are new caloric requirements per grade ranges (K-5, 6-8, 9-12) that we must adhere to. This could effect the
size of some items like bread. We have already started making these changes last year.
  •  New sodium requirements do not start until 2014 but we are steadily starting to reduce the amount of sodium
    we allow in our meals.

We realize that proper nutrition helps your student perform better in school. Over the past 5 years, Fraser Nutrition
Services in partnership with Aramark Services have been taking steps to help make your student’s dining environment
better by making changes in the appearance of the dining area, how they produce meals, and serve students. These
small changes add up to help positively impact the overall health of your student. Last year Twain Elementary moved
toward meeting the Healthier US Schools Challenge and formed a coordinated school health team. If you would like to
help form one in your student’s school please contact the nutrition service director, Mandy Sosnowski at
    mandy.sosnowski@fraserk12.org

Fraser High School Parents: We understand that athelets need to refuel before and after they practice. To help with this we have worked with athletic trainers to create new Sports Meals. These meals can be ordered during breakfast or lunch and picked up at 2:30pm in the cafeteria. Students can submit an order form with their payment at the cash stand. Parents can also email orders in to the address below. All email orders must be in before Noon. Email all orders to rose.jones@fraserk12.org or mandy.sosnowski@fraserk12.org.

Students: You're invited to breakfast!

It is a proven fact that students learn better, pay better attention, have less behavioral issues and do better on tests when they eat breakfast in the morning. That is why we would like to invite your students to have breakfast with us every morning! At our elementary schools we serve breakfast in the classroom every morning. This is great for days when weather is bad and you don't have time to cook. At Richards Middle School and Fraser High School we offer different hot & cold breakfast items every morning. We also have grab and go breakfast options at our portable breakfast carts in the Fra Café at FHS and in front of the Media Center at RMS. This makes it easier for you to grab a quick bite! Breakfast Prices are as follows: Elementary-$1.35, Middle and High School: $1.60
